Gender equality is a right. Fulfilling this right is the best chance we have in meeting some of the most pressing challenges of our time—from economic crisis and lack of health care, to climate change, violence against women and escalating conflicts.

Women are not only more affected by these problems, but also possess ideas and leadership to solve them. The gender discrimination still holding too many women back, holds our world back too. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by world leaders in 2015.

S.M Khalid participated an award ceremony at Presidency house to celebrate the achievement of World first certified Green Presidency house (Green building) with honorable President of Pakistan.

S.M Khalid visited a world icon Turkey based construction company to discuss challenges facing in construction industries in terms of building safety including structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental and fire safety. During this meeting S.M Khalid also discussed the possibility of implementation of ACCORD and BCP in the construction industries of Pakistan to get Green building, LEED certification and to qualify for different signatory brand of ACCORD. Spent a nice memorable time with the chairman in Islamabad.

4th meeting on SDGs at Federation house with UNDP.

Hohenstein institute Pakistan has participated in 4th meeting of Federation house FPCCI central standing committee on “ Sustainable Development Goals” As an industry representative and d convener of FPCCI central standing committee on SDGs, S.M Khalid delivered an interactive, informative and productive presentation on SDG 7 and 9. A large number of representative from industry was participated.

Concept of Circular Economy & Ecology by S.M. Khalid at YB Group.

The circular economy is oriented to nature as its role model. In essence, the concept of the circular economy aims to keep raw materials in a closed loop. In this way, resources are maximally used, the need for new ones is reduced, waste is avoided and the life cycle of products is increased. In short, the waste of today becomes the raw material of tomorrow – the same as in nature. In this way, the circular economy differs from the current economic system i.e. the linear system, in which products are manufactured, used and disposed of. However materials produced under circular economy concept is compostable and biodegrade at the end of their use. Thus, the material loop closes and aligns with the biological cycle.

The United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an urgent call for action by all countries and provide a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. The goals recognize that ending poverty is inextricably linked with improving health and education, reducing inequality, and spurring economic growth – all while tackling climate change and preserving bio-diversity. This event will explore the SDGs, and in particular, will explore the role of the corporate sector as a vital partner in the SDGs. Not only is the corporate sector a powerful lever for creating greater
environmental sustainability and shared prosperity, but the business case for
sustainable business practices gets even stronger each year. Speakers also discussed the future of the fast-growing segment of the investment field, ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) investing, an approach that is rooted in the idea that all investments have health, environmental, and societal impacts.

climate change participated in this meeting
to discuss on SDG progress.

A seminar was organized by Ministry of science and technology on green growth Pakistan. Experts from different industrial sector such as food. Agri, Textile, dairy was participated and delivered a presentation on their achievements to support Green Growth Pakistan.

On demand of Textile industry a seminar was organized by ICMA (Institute of cost and management accountants) to create a general awareness of STeP and MIG. Finance managers from different textile industries was participated.

European & American Liaison office organized a seminar and open discussion on the challenges of STeP Sustainable Textile Production standard implementation in Industry and C2C for circular economy Professionals from different Textile industries were participated.

Seminar on production and environmental sustainability was organized on request of EPZ Karachi at Midas safety auditorium. Many participants from different industries were participated in this exchange of experience seminar on Sustainability, Ecology and circular economy.

During Expo Karachi, customers visited from different countries and sectors.

Remote audit conducted by ETCO and EPEA Switzerland at Lucky Textile and Younus Textile Mills.

Celebrated 14th of August and 23rd March at head office with team Pakistan
